This poem was nominated by UN as the best poem, Written by an African Kid
When I born, I black
When I grow up, I black
When I go in Sun, I black
When I scared, I black
When I sick, I black
And when I die, I still black

And you white fellow
When you born, you pink
When you grow up, you white
When you go in sun, you red
When you cold, you blue
When you scared, you yellow
When you sick, you green
And when you die, you gray
And you calling me colored?

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling… Do you agree?
And even more beautiful is knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

Be a reason for others to smile.

No one is born happy ..
But all of us are born with the ability to create happiness ..
So from today onwards, be happy and make others happy ..

Don't worry about whether you have a good or a bad smile, just flash your sweetest smile..

Campus! Part Four - Cooking!!

Today, I had to go for one of my friend's wedding and I met my old pals. It was FUN!! :) That's why the post today is late :) OK, so here' another of my experiences :)
A few of my friends and I stayed for sometime, about 5 months, near my college. So, it was a big old house. There were rumors that someone had died there by hanging herself. 'N only a few rooms including the kitchen were opened to us. So, it had a haunted feeling, all together. Only I had slept there alone, 'coz of no other choice, at night :). We had our food from a near by restaurant. Although we had all the necessary things for cooking, most of us were lazy to do some cooking and no one knows it well. The only thing we did was boiling water for drinking and making tea :), that even have to be done by me. If I didn't boil the water, then no one will drink water for the day except when going to restaurant.
Well, on one day, we bought some milk from the near by house and decided to make tea. So, I was making the tea, when one of my friends came to kitchen. Well, this friend of mine, let's call him Mr.P, is really scared of ghosts and our kitchen is in the most scariest place of the house which is really far from the main rooms and the house is in a huge compound. So, if we are in the kitchen alone, we could feel creepy. I was alone there lot of times and had to look back a number of times to see if anyone was there 'coz I felt something :) Mr.P rarely comes to kitchen alone and this is one of the rarest times when he came to help me. So, I told him this is one of the remarkable days that you came to help me. [There's no help needed to make tea LOL; that's another thing :)]
So, I put some tea powder and milk; and was waiting. I told Mr.P to watch and went to the front room to tell my friends of this. Within seconds, Mr.P who was in kitchen came back with us. So, I went back to kitchen and found that he had covered it with some plate. Finally, everything's done and the tea was ready. We divided it among ourselves. Mr.P and I drank it quickly and Mr.P said since he helped me, the tea had a special taste. One of the other friends took one glass and accidentally spilled some of the tea over his hands. Within seconds, something came up in his hands, we thought it might be blisters, but it suddenly took a solid white shape. Well, what is it?? There it is!! Melted candle.
OOh!!! That time we read in newspaper that certain people uses candle wax with milk to make it appear good. So, we confirmed the milk is bad [Oops, we both drank it] and told the neighbors not to use the milk and we threw out the rest of the milk and tea. But, our neighbors told us, they had no problems and they'll check. Well, first we thought that the mysterious ghosts might have done the trick but later, we went back to the kitchen and did a thorough check. Guess what? Mr.P covered the boiling water with a plate which had a candle on it, that we used the other night :) He didn't notice it, neither do I.
Well, we thought, the next morning we'll have problems with our stomach, but luckily, nothing out of the ordinary happened :). 'N Tell you what? The next day the story spread all around our college that we found a new ingredient to make special tea that tastes special!! Yeah and the tea is called Ghost Tea!! :)

Big Dog!!

Check out this video BigDog
It's one of the most advanced and complex robot ever built. See the way it moves without falling even after kicked by the guy? Now we are able to build a robot which can move almost as good as a real animal. In military labs, already human robots might have been built secretly, which can move and act like real humans [think about the terminator movie :)]. Soon, we'll be able to give perfect artificial intelligence to these robots, Then what could happen?

Check this link out: Liger

Liger is a combination of Lion and Tiger to be more specific, the offspring of a male Lion and a female Tiger. This doesn't happen in the wild or naturally. But due to the wild imaginations of human kind, we humans have successfully created this creature which is twice the size of the tiger and has all the qualities of both Lion and Tiger. How do you take this? It was possible 'coz both are from the cat family. I was wondering whether someone will attempt to mate a man with a chimpanzee lady LOL and the result will be a creature which has the strength and ability of a chimpanzee and the intelligence of a human [if that happens :)]
If you are given a chance to create something like this, which animals would you chose and what would be it's offspring's characteristics? Be Optimistic :)

Campus! Part Three - The Climax

In my last post, I was talking about the strike and didn't tell you what happened at last, right? So let me tell you the climax today :). So the problem, as I said in my last post, started with a student arguing with a teacher. After this incident, we made lot of nuisances in his class and finally there came a situation when he is no more able to teach us. Well, he told us "why only in my class you are behaving like this" and we told the reason he is the only one who's complained to the principal unnecessarily. So, he explained he complained 'coz he is fed up with our friend's misbehavior in his class and he's not behaving that way in other teachers' classes [So, what's wrong with whom?]. So, we decided to solve the solution and everyone started talking about what to be done. So, finally I suggested a solution which I never thought our friend will agree. Well, it's simple "he has to say sorry in front of the whole class and should promise that he'll be a good student in the teacher's class". So, the teacher also agreed with this and promised the entire class that he'll withdraw the suspension if this is done.
Even though, our friend was not ready to say so, we compelled him to do so to solve the problem in the most easiest way. And finally he agreed and said all those things in front of the whole class. Well, the teacher became very happy and he said "right now I'm going to the principal office and your suspension will be withdrawn" and he went. Well, tell you what, he came back with a notice announcing that our friend, who just apologized in front of the whole class, is suspended for an unknown period of time and he is not permitted to sit in the class.
After reading the notice, he went out of the class to the staff room. We were all stunned by his behavior, like a chameleon which changes its color so abruptly. My friend scolded me for making him apologize in front of the whole class and told me that "now you know his real character and I told you not to believe him". Well, being the class representative, I always stood by my friends. it was the first and last time I ever took the side of a teacher. I felt really guilty for getting my friend embarrassed.
I was so enraged about this teacher's behavior that I went to the staff room [He was sitting there with two other teachers, one was going to be his wife] and told him that you promised the whole class and don't behave like a person who has multiple fathers [Yah, I actually said that LOL]. Well, he was shocked and all he said was "I have nothing to say, I have nothing to say" which he repeated to who ever asked. One of my friend came at the exact time and gave his share to him :).
It is then that the exam boycotting and all that happened. After our successful boycotting, they sent a mail to all our parents to attend an immediate meeting. 'N the chairman of our college called my home and told my father that they are going to dismiss me due to misbehavior.
I used to go to college from my home, though it's nearly 70 kms and I used to go by train. So I've to wake up at 4'O clock and catch a bus at 5:15 to get the train at 6:20. I'll reach college by around 8'O clock and our class started at 9:00. For one hour I'll be chatting with the watch man about the iraq war, politics and everything that interests him :). Then my return train is at 6:30, so I'll be in college till 5:30 and I'll reach home around 9'O clock. So, this was my routine and since I am the only student who reach the college first and leave the college last, I was popular in our college 'coz I know everyone, including the watchman uncle, the sweeper aunty, the gardener.
So, when I reached home around 9, my father was waiting there shouting at me saying "you are sent to college to study and not to show off @!$^#&*". Well, I gave my version of that incident and was, somehow, able to calm him down. 'N I knew they cannot take any actions toward me 'coz the situation was already out of their hands. So all parents came at college for the meeting. The meeting started with the management team showing off the progress of their college and they told all the lies to parents. Well, our parents, told them to allow the students to speak also and they didn't allow that at first, But later when the pressure increased they were forced to allow us to speak. BINGO!! There goes everything, everything they said, ended up bluffing 'coz our friends started giving professional speeches which were absolutely true. They added some fake crying with their speaking and the whole thing looked just perfect LOL. So, finally the meeting ended with the principal and management agreeing to withdraw the suspension and reconducting the exam that we boycotted. One more golden feather in our crown :)

PS: A whole lot more incidents went behind the scene, and I can't type in all those, so I am keeping it short :)

Developed countries!! - Or are they?

One of my friends told me about an incident that her cousin experienced in US. Well, her cousin is settle there and his little daughter is in a school there. So, once he noticed that she only had the native americans as her friend and when he asked, do you know what the little girl replied? Dad we are black!! Couldn't believe there racism still exists and even in the minds of kids. If it's in the mind of kids, then surely it's their parents who teach them such things. Well, I don't know whether it's a rare incident but I'm hearing such thing for the first time. It is hard to believe that in so called developed countries racism still exist. Here is another incident. A meeting was going on and people from UK didn't attend the meeting 'coz of some sudden holiday. So, one of the indian guy, as a joke, told that "it seems today is britain's independence day". Suddenly, one of the guys there got up and said "How dare you! You know, Britain was never ruled by anyone. Britain ruled the whole world and it is people like you who have independence day" What an idiot is such a guy? Can't take a joke? or don't have a humor sense? or won't like humor when it's said by an indian?
'N don't forget about the shilpa shetty incident!! Atleast it helped her to win a lot of money.
We call them developed countries and modern people. In what way are they modern? In their dazzling outfits, they look like they are from 25th century and what comes out of their mouth makes us think they are from 18th century.
So, have any of you come across such situations or atleast heard about these?

Are you able to predict?

I was able to foresee my own future sometimes. Yah, I know, it's difficult to believe, but it certainly happened and is happening. Not one or two times but a lot. The only problem is, I don't know when such a thing occur. I would like to share one of my experiences with you, though its silly. Well, my name is Aneesh, right? LOL and my initials are C and O. It was like that since I was born and no body find anything interesting in my name until I went for my Post Graduation. So, before joining the college, I had a strange feeling that I will be famous in the name C..O [pronounced ZeeOh, not KO :) ]. I was sure about this before I went to the college and so did it happen, all my friends started calling me by this name, even some of the teachers and I too liked the new nickname. A number of such things happend, I can't remeber all those now. But, I feel it's strange!! OOh! some psychic capability :). So, I just wanted to know, if any of you had a similar experience. Feel free to share even the stupidest things...

Visheshtagged me today. 'N pretty interesting tag. What are the things that brought a change in me?
Let me think on this. Ok, here we go.
Realization:- Yah, it's the realization about everything which has made a lasting change in me, about me, about people, about God, the list is endless.
Reading:- Reading always brings in new information. How do you feel when, on one day, you find out whatever you thought true is wrong?
Music:- As always, this is one of the things that can bring a change in me, though temporary :)
Movies:- I am big fan of movies, it's difficult to point out a single one, but I love watching English movies.
Ofcourse, parents and relatives will always be there for almost all, so I'm not writing that. Can't think of anything else now. 'N forgive me for not tagging anyone :)

Positive Thinking!!

Does positive thinking has an unknown power? If we think positively, does that make a change in our life? Ever thought about these things? I recently came across an interesting principle which is called the 90/10 principle. Here it is :
10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react.
It says we have no control over 10% of what happens in our life but we certainly have control of the 90% of the rest. Normally what we does is we think about that 10% and let it ruin the rest 90%. Is it right? It suggests, if we don't care about that 10% and think positively about the rest 90%, then that'll make a difference to our life in a positive way and we can reach where we never thought we would reach. Any ideas??

Campus! Part Two- Even I am a Poet!!!

I don't know this can be called a poem [the poem is at the end of the post :)], but I thought it is a poem LOL. Yes, Even I wrote a poem; then who can't? Well, here is my poetic background. I have written a few poems in my childhood. Yeah, you heard it right. Out of some frenzy or something, I started writing poems and stories, only a few :) Then, I don't know what happened, I stopped. Well, if I read those things now, I will feel embarassed. It all looks rubbish now LOL. So that's my experience as a poet. These all happened before my 5th standard :).
Then when I was doing my Post graduation 2years back, I met her and she became my best friend :). It all happened unexpectedly. Out of a fight, started our friendship LOL. Here is the exact incident. I was the class representative of our class [a big mistake from our principal, since he's the one who chose me LOL]. We were the first batch in the college and the senior most batch. But, unlike our juniors, where boys and girls were enemies [atleast sometimes], we had unity. No matter what, Our girls stood by us. Needless to say we had a lot of problems with the management and the staff of our college. That's another big story and I'll tell it sometime later :)
So, this time it's 'coz of a suspension. It started when our presentation sessions were going on. One of my friends argued with one of our teacher [remember the teacher I mentioned in my last sunday post?] and 'coz of that he was suspended for an unknown period of time. Well, we felt like it is injustice and we need to fight back. So, I called all my class together and gave a speech on what to do next. If it was just suspension from classes we wouldn't have cared but our practical exams were planned the next week and he won't be allowed to attend that. So, we thought to protest. My fellow representative from girls and I went to our principal and told about this. He said "Yah he cannot attend the exam". I argued with him about the reason for suspension and it is really silly to give a punishment like this for a silly reason and he didn't like it and told me there won't be any change and I'll be suspended if I talk like that.
So, we made a plan to boycott the exams and I announced our decision to the whole class. As always, we know there will be traitors, so we decided to keep an eye on the possible black sheeps. Well normally the exams are conducted according to roll numbers, so boys have to attend the exam first, but they know we won't attend, so they played cleverly and announced a holiday for the first two days, so that girls will have to attend the exam first. It was a smart move 'coz most of the girls were afraid of the internal marks they'll lose if they don't attend the exam. So, we called everyone's home at night and told not to come. Still, as a precaution we waited in front of the college at morning. So, as expected a few of the girls came and 'coz we were there, we were able to turn them away by brainwashing LOL :), but some of them came with their parents and we told the reason and try to persuade them but without success and they attended the exam. So, that's it. The next day, two more attended the exam and out of sixty only some seven girls attended and our stike was successful. Suddenly, everyone decided to avoid those who had written the exam. But, I told them they'll have their own reason to attend the exam and some might be genuine. Of course, there are selfish idiots who just care only about their own internal marks and if we were able to get some favours by suffering they can also enjoy without getting a black mark themselves. But, in any group there will be people like that and we just have to ignore them.
So, I told my friends, atleast they are girls and like us, they are not used to bunking off classes and disobeying their parents, but they won't understand. They say, we too have problems and even then we stood for a general purpose and they don't and they were right. What ever, I always have my own decision and I'll do only what I feel is right. So, I ignored those who are selfish and still kept touch with others as though nothing has happened. So, among them was that girl. Everyone started ignoring her and won't talk to her except her close friends.
Well, I thought if her close friends can talk to her why can't I. So, I talked to her as I used to do before this incident and later when we became close enough she told me the reason for what she did. And as expected, it really was a genuine one. So, as time went, we got more close and close and I helped her in preparing for the exams.
My friends thought we were in love. LOL. WTF? Can't a guy and girl be good friends? One of my friend told me these are all infactuations and you'll regret it later and he had seen these type of friendships a lot and he know how it will end and started advicing me [like he cared for me]. This was another selfish idiot who didn't attend the exams just 'coz if he attended we would have beaten him up. Guys won't get the concession for girls LOL. So, I told that jackass that don't be a smart-ass and I know what I am doing and I have a life of my own and she has a life of her own and I know that a time will soon come when we have to part and you won't know the meaning of friendship until you feel it. Well, even my parents started suspecting me that I'm in love LOL 'coz of the frequent phone calls and no girl had ever called at my home before that LOL :) When they started pestering me about these, I told them that I'll tell them if there is something they needed to know and to shut up LOL. After that, they never asked me about that in that way :)
'N finally the day came, our last day in the college. Parting is one of the most difficult part in life, isn't it? And our emotions, talents will come out only in such rare situations. So, I couldn't sleep the night before that day. 'N I had her autograph in my hands. She had given that only to me. So, I was writing nonstop. Words just came out of nowhere. And I was lying on my bed thinking of the next day and at four in the morning these words came to my mind and I just wrote it as a poem and the next day I gave the autograph to her. it was like a novel LOL. Well, I thought I was the only one who writes autograph in that way, [my first and last autograph, I normally won't keep such things, This time I wanted to have some thing to keep since it's the end of campus life :( ], but when I got mine from her LOL it was the same. She had written another novel for me :). I was just lucky to get a friend like her and she was lucky to get a friend like me LOL. Now two years have passed, She got married and is in dubai. we still keep in touch, but it don't have the warmth of that day I think :(. That is life. isn't it? Nothing is permanent in this life. What ever we feels like having for a life time will escape from us just like that. 'N the most beautiful words come from people in such despair. Words which form out of despair have more beauty and power than that form out of happiness. Well, here's what I was talking about. Hope, you'll like it :)

Hey dear, I want to tell you something
Something, right from my heart
Whenever I feel happy, I want to see you
'coz I know you will be happy too
Whenever I feel sad, I want to see you
'coz I know you can make me happy
But, now I wonder! Who are you to me?
You are not my lover
You are not my mother
But now I realize
You are my life
You are my soul and
You are my everything
No matter whatever happens
No matter whoever comes into my life
Your place in my heart, is there
forever and ever
No friend of mine is like you
And I won't let anyone to be like you
Now, I am sure that we will meet again
in this life or the next

The value of Life!!!

What is actually the value of life? We say each and every life is precious and we certainly mean the life of our own race, isn't it? For some, that race means human, for some it means white people, for some it means people in their own religion. So, ever thought about the real value of life? We simply kill a mosquito with no regret, Aren't we taking a life there? We simply tread on a budding plant and there we have taken a life. Isn't this all different forms of life? I guess we can understand the value of our own life only. And so it seems with every living beings. Even animals can understand the value of it's own life and it'll do anything to save that. I guess the difference is animals never suicide, but humans ofcourse do suicide. what's your thoughts?

Yesterday, I got a link about ghosts near by :).

For those, who are interested here is the link

Well, how can I waste a chance to meet a ghost, face to face, in real life? So, I went yesterday, the same time as metioned by the girl in the blog, and as she said, the power went off exactly at the time I went. Oooh!! I thought that's it, I am going to meet THE GHOST. But, unfortunately, there was no ghost. May be the ghost got tired after getting into news.

Well, we cannot laugh at ghost stories and we normally say "Oh, on 21st century, ghosts??". But, what will you do if you have a similar experience?

People are different. There are people who believe in ghosts, there are people who say I don't believe and I am not afraid of ghosts but right in their heart they know they are afraid but don't want to show and there are people who will never believe in ghosts, no matter what. Even if ghosts come in front of them, they say that's not ghost and even the ghost will be disappointed and it will go away 'coz ghosts also needs respect, right? Ghosts expects people to scream and run. If they see people who just look at them as if they are a strange mongoose or something and just take a picture of the ghost and walk away; certainly, the ghost would be disappointed and they won't come anymore :)

My cousin told me an incident that had happened in his college. There is a haunted bath room there and people say if you go and bath in one of it at midnight you can hear a lady laugh. So, one of their seniors decided to check it out at midnight. He and his friends went to the bathroom and checked each and every room, no one was there and his friends returned, he stayed there to check. After a few hours, his friends who were waiting at their room didn't see him return and they decide to check and so they came back and found him unconsious on the bath room floor. Well, when everyone was gone he waited there and after some time he heard the laugh. He was terrified and he didn't remember what happened next. This is what my cousin told me or what I can recall. I'll update it if anything is wrong about this, on this weekend. I didn't say anything and I just thought, yah it's easy to think when we are comfortably in our own room, right? So,
I thought like why couldn't he record the voice of the girl or open the door and check who's in the next bath room or take a pic or what ever. Well, isn't it easy to say these things. Just imagine yourself at a haunted place alone with no living creatures around you and suddenly you hear someone laugh just next to your door. Will you have the courage to open the room where you are and check it or will you wait in your room firmly closed for someone to come.
People bluntly say, Yah, I never saw a ghost and I'm waiting to see one, but what's their intention? Do they expect the ghosts to come out from these places and show them that they exist? Atleast they need to go to so called places and check themselves :)

PS: I have read about a man who does research in these things and he said he had gone to numerous, so called, haunted places and is yet to find a ghost himself.

Campus!!! Part One

Today, I would like to share one of my campus experiences. It happened a few years ago. I was pretty good in technical stuff and was good in programming. All of my friends and teachers know that I am good in programming. We had theory exams and practicals. I didn't concentrate much on theory since I wasn't that much interested in theories, though I used to score good marks 'N we had viva after each practical exam.
This incident happened during one of such vivas. We had a teacher who taught us programming and he was just a few years older than most of us, but will always behave like he is somewhere near our parents' age and used to advice us a lot. There were students who were a lot older than him. As you all might know, advice is the one thing we hate the most, right?
The advice is really funny, we may get five minutes break after each hour and when we are talking in the corridor, if he happens to go past us, he'll advice us the importance of time and how to use it efficiently and how it can affect our future.. blah, blah, blah.. Well, come on it's just five minutes, we are human beings, right?. After an hour long boring class, we are getting a five minute break to breathe and even we have to work in that time means....
Well, now you all must know the character of the teacher I just mentioned. But, the best thing that stands out about his character is the 'Know it all' show off. To be frank, he wasn't that much good in his subject. Even students like me knew a lot more than what he knew, and the problem is he used to show off a lot, even if he didn't know anything and if we asks some questions that he don't know, he'll get angry and'll try to shout at us. But he was careful enough to avoid people who are good in the subject, and he usually does this show off at people who are weak in his subject.
He had this inferiority complex towards some of my friends and I, only because he thought we knew the subject better than him and the only place he can dominate us is when there is viva, so that he could ask what ever questions he would feel like and will smile an evil smile if we ever fail to answer, if that happens, like he had conquered the whole world.
So, on one day came my viva. I did my practical pretty early since it was easy for me and was called to attend the viva. There was the 'one of a kind' teacher waiting to show that he knew more than me. I knew his way of asking questions from my viva on first semester, the same teacher conducted it. I was careless that time and I didn't prepare well 'coz I thought the questions will be only related to the practicals, but what happened was he asked questions covering the entire computer field and he had that evil smile on his face when he surprised me with his questions.
But, this time, it was pay back time. I prepared well, covered almost all I can and I was confident that I could answer anything he might ask. So, back to viva. When he saw me coming, he suddenly became serious as if the papers infront of him is some blueprint of an atomic bomb. He started asking many questions and I answered everything. Surely, as you may guess, he felt really disappointed.
As though it is his last weapon, he asked one final question. I was taken aback. I thought about it for a while and my conclusion was it is not possible to do what he asked. But, I didn't know whether he had found out any new way. So, I said, "I don't know Sir, I think it's not possible to do it". Well, well, there came his evil grin and he said "OK Aneesh, your viva is over, you may go", as if he had just won a million dollar prize.
Oooh!!! What did he think of me? I wasn't going to let that go that easily. I asked him "Sir, just curious, How can we do that?". Haha!!! You should see the expression on his face, he never expected some one to ask the same question to him and wasn't prepared at all. He knew what he asked was a foolish question. He stammered a bit like "I think, Some time back I, You have to" LOL. I felt sorry for him, so I helped him by answering, "it is not possible to do that, sir", so he repeated after me saying "Yah, it is not possible to do" and so ended my viva.
